GCBC welcomes the arrival of a new (secondhand) coxed four to the fleet, Susie Clarke. Acquired from University of Nottingham BC, Susie Clarke will be used as the 2nd women’s four, second only to the recently professionally refurbished ‘Green’ (Gyda). At a 75 kg weighting, Susie Clarke will be more suitably weighted than its predecessor, Victor, weighted at 65 kg. For those that are interested in the details, Susie Clarke is a 2005 NewGen Ray Sims that was bought for a very respectable £500. The low price reflects an aesthetic ‘blemish’ as GCBC might call it, that can be very easily improved by our skilled boatmen. Susie Clarke will make its debut on home water during our up and coming preseason and we are glad that this new purchase will facilitate many more members of the largest women’s squad in years to race at events.
