Hi, I'm George and I will be Men's Vice Captain for the upcoming year. I am a third year physics student and prioritise rowing over anything else in life. I will be responsible for creating a novice squad feared across Durham and carrying the chat. CAPTAIN OF COXES: MARCUS BALDWIN
Hi, I'm Marcus and I will be the new Captain of Coxes this year. I am a third year History student, and only started coxing at Durham, so I know exactly what new coxes will be going through. I am looking to training up some new coxes to leave the club in great hands for the future. |
BOATPERSON: IZADIN QASEM
Hi I’m Izzy, I am a first year engineering student and I will be boat person for this year. I have been rowing for about 6 years now, after a successful school career of beating Durham colleges, including grey. As boatman (or master of the boats) my job is to fix the growing number of holes in the boats and make sure we don’t sink. Even as a fresh I will be looking to make sure the GCBC boats are flair. I’m looking to forward to making the most of my first year with GCBC. |
SOCIAL SECRETARY: FREDDIE LARSEN
My name is Freddy Larsen. I am a second year geography student and I am one of our social secs this year. I started rowing as a novice last year and quickly grew to love it. I am looking forward to an exciting year of events and socials, with a focus on involving novices, the senior squad and all members of grey college. |
WELFARE AND CHARITIES OFFICER: GUY DRAKE
Hi, my name is Guy, and I will be your Welfare and Charities officer for the upcoming year. I’m a third year Natural Scientist and learnt to row at university through the DUBC development program, before getting involved with Grey. My role within the club is to act as a point of welfare for any members as well as insuring all new members integrated. I will always be around for a chat if anyone has and concerns or queries. I too hope to build upon the charitable activities of last year and I am really looking forward to the season to come. |
